Announcing SVNP's Spring 2014 Joint Project with the River Stewardship Council for the Assabet, Concord, and Sudbury Rivers
The Sudbury Valley Nature Photographers are delighted to announce that have collaborated with the River Stewardship Council (RSC) on a project to encourage family enjoyment of our local rivers.  The RSC has identified nearly 20 publicly accessible locations from which the natural beauty of the Concord, Assabet, and Sudbury Rivers can be viewed, contemplated, and enjoyed.  SVNP members have provided photographs of these locations, and the RSC has prepared a traveling exhibit which will feature one photograph from each of the locations.  This exhibit  began with an installation at the Billerica public library on July 1 and will travel to various public libraries in towns throughout the watershed area over the next year or so.

The River Stewardship Council is an umbrella organization working with all the towns, other not-for-profit conservation organizations and state and federal agencies for the protection and improvement of the river resources and wildlife of the Sudbury, Assabet, and Concord rivers. It's a great honor that RSC has chosen to work with us on this project to educate and create awareness about the rivers.

The RSC is preparing a family friendly map which highlights places (approximately 20*) along or near the three rivers that families can enjoy, whether it be on the water or land.  A preliminary version of the map can be seen here.
